Graduate Student
Mississippi State University
I'm Allison Brown, an exercise physiology master's student at Mississippi State University where I work as a graduate teaching assistant. I am currently working under Dr. Zachary Gillen in the Resistance Exercise Performance (REP) Laboratory. During my time at Mississippi State University, I have gained knowledge in various research areas of kinesiology, including exercise physiology, sport psychology, and physical education/coaching (B.S. in Phys. Ed. and Coaching). I am currently organizing my research project titled, "Effects of Psychological Arousal and Relaxation on Muscle Performance, Activation, and Heart Rate Variability During Gross and Fine Motor Tasks." This research involves using a psychological influence via music selections on different types of motor performance to provide strength and conditioning professionals with more information about the psychological side of training.
