Dr. Cheever started his professional career as a certified athletic trainer working with colligiate football athletes. While , striving to provide the best possible care for those individuals he realized he had many more questions than answers and decided to return to school and complete a PhD in Kinesiology from Temple University. There he developed a love for exploring the long-term benefits and consequeneces of sport participation. He has published several articles about concussion, musculoskeletal injury risk, barriers to reporting injury and early intervention. His future goals are to identify and obstacles to early injury disclosure and target those obstacles using interventional programs to improve access to early intervetion to offset the often time compounding negative effects of undisclosed Musculoskeletal and concussive injuries accross th eathlete lifespan.
