Megan Sax van der Weyden (MS, CSCS, TSAC-F) is a PhD candidate and a graduate research assistant at George Mason University. Megan is also a U.S. Army officer currently on an education delay to pursue advanced degrees in the field of Kinesiology. She works in the Sports Medicine Assessment, Research, and Testing (SMART) Laboratory where her research aims to identify the individual characteristics and mission factors that influence physical and cognitive responses to military occupational stressors. Ultimately, her goal is to develop regression and machine learning models to predict performance, fatigue, and recovery in military service members. Megan has been an author on over a dozen peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference abstract & podium presentations. She is active in the NSCA and is a member of the 2023-2024 NSCA Leadership and Diversity Program.
