Yosef 'Yossi' Shaul is a PhD student in the Kinesiology doctoral program at GMU Smart Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Joel Martin. His research interests include factors that affect tactical athletes' physical and cognitive occupational performance. Yossi received his MS degree in Kinesiology from GMU, where he collaborated in a human trial study exploring salivary biomarkers of fatigue. He also holds a previous MS degree in Bioinformatics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he studied computational models of protein-protein association rates, and a former BS degree in Bioinformatics from Towson University. In his research, Yossi plans to incorporate multi-omics techniques with kinematics to elucidate the physiological and cognitive response to various stressors. Yossi is passionate about implementing the “exercise as medicine” paradigm in a community-centered approach, as well as the integration of advanced technologies. In his free time, he likes to run, cycle, and play with his dog.
