Doctoral Student
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
My name is Scott Brau, PT, DPT, CSCS, TSAC-F, and I am a second year PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pursuing a degree in Health Sciences. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist (degree from UW-Milwaukee), I received my BA from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Exercise Science and worked as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach in South Eastern Wisconsin, working with a variety of athletes and eventually volunteer firefighters. I found a considerable interest in working with occupational athletes, as the nature of many of their job demands require an intricate blend of technical and physical training to sustain performance and stave off injury across the career-span. My current recent interest is aimed at taking the programming knowledge from the strength and conditioning field and applying it to the rehabilitative world to improve the timeliness and effectiveness of return to work programming for occupational athletes.
