Michael Toczko is a doctoral candidate in the School of Kinesiology within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at George Mason University. His current research interests are focused on investigating the impact of cognitive and physiological stressors on performance and injuries, utilizing wearable biosensors to analyze cognitive and physiological workloads during consecutive 24-hour shifts among career firefighters. After completing his doctorate of philosophy, Michael plans to begin a career as a researcher focusing on the impact of shift work on firefighter cognitive and physiological acute readiness.
