Matthew Hermes is an assistant professor in the Exercise Science program at Murray State University. He received his doctoral degree in exercise physiology from the University of Kansas, working in the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and USA Weightlifting (USAW). Current and planned investigations include acute performance responses to training, change of direction assessment, and vertical jump assessment. His research interests span the realms of exercise physiology and strength and conditioning and include areas such as weightlifting, exercise training modalities, and adaptations to training.
